Below are a few photos from our day trip to Positano

Positano is a 20 minute coastal bus ride from Sorrento along the Amafi coast.

It’s a beautiful fishing village to visit, all the buildings seem to precariously hang from the cliff. There are no roads in The Amalfi coast only a series of steep stepped paths to get you around the town. In 1343 the town was destroyed by a terrible tsunami and in the 15th century it was continual attacked by Ottoman pirates.

There’s beautiful vistas to take in, lots of little shops to visit and some great restaurants to stop at before walking back up the steep hill to the bus stop on the main road back to Sorrento.

Places to visit

Walk along the beach.

All the little shops leading down to the beach.

Highlights we experienced

Walking down through the town.

Finding a great restaurant with an amazing view.

Walking along the beach.

Be mindful of…

We took the bus from Sorrento, this is a very windy road. The bus stops at the top of the town on the main road, so to get into the town, you have to walk down through it, which at times is steep.
