Prague

Below are a few photos from our weekend in Prague

Old Prague town is magical.

We were only there for a long weekend but we managed to explore quite a large amount of the old city from the Castle to the Faberge shop.

The Gothic buildings in the Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) are around 700 years old and is one of two main squares in the city. Wenceslas Square is the other which is just 5 minutes walk away in the New Town which has the National Museum as well as modern shops. The medieval Astronomical Clock on the Old Town City Hall is the oldest astronomical clock still working and it gathers huge crowds when it’s about to chime.

The ornate Charles Bridge which crosses the Vltava river is decorated by 30 statues most of them in the baroque-style, originally erected around 1700 but now all replaced by replicas.

The boat tours are a must just to see the fabulous buildings along the riverbank. Its the perfect opportunity to get some great photos which you wouldn’t otherwise get.
We visited this magical city in the October, it was cold and one day it snowed creating a picture postcard scene.
