The city of canals

The city of canals

Venice is such an usual but exciting city to explore. Every inch of Venice is a photo opportunity and it did not take us long before we started taking photos while exploring the area where we were based.

There is such a rich array of beautiful architecture, textures and colours to photograph. As well as reflections, sunsets and night time shots to experiment with while taking your photos.

A gondola ride is well worth the money and gives you a new photographic perspective of the city.

Even the everyday scenes are interesting in Venice and make great incidental shots to help enrich your memories. We were fascinated by the waste disposal barges and the branded courier barges which went about their daily business. As Venice is so unique and unusual, it’s easy to forget that this is home to some people, though over the years more people live on the mainland and travel every day into Venice to work.

Make sure you also get to visit the beautiful islands of Murano and Burano. Murano is famous for beautiful glass-making and Burano is renowned for its brightly coloured fisherman’s houses.
