A roman town

Pompeii – a roman town

It’s like stepping back in time when entering the ancient streets of Pompeii – a roman town south of Mount Vesuvius.

Shops, villas, places of entertainment and worship are all there waiting to be explored. To walk down the grooves made by carts thousands of years ago brings ancient times to life. It takes a while to walk around the whole complex, the further you walk from the forum the quieter it gets, and more photo opportunities arise.

Pompeii is an UNESCO World Heritage site and its one of the most popular tourist attractions in Italy. Today, Pompeii is some distance inland but when it was a bustling city, it would have been nearer to the coast.
