A small town on the Amalfi coast

Positano is a small town on the Amalfi coast

We took a 20-minute bus ride from Sorrento along a very windy and sometimes narrow coastal road to Positano. A small town on the Amalfi coast overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

The bus drops you at the top of Positano which gives a great photo opportunity to take an overall shot of the beautifully coloured buildings in the town. Descending down the steep narrow enclosed streets you occasionally come across little shops and enticing restaurants. At the bottom of the hill you arrive at the beach and harbour where you can relax for a while.

Looking at the town from the harbour gives you a breath-taking view of all these building clinging to the cliff. This certainly warrants a series of great photos before steadily ascending the steep streets back up through the small town. And taking time to stop and admire the buildings – catch your breath – before continuing onwards to the top.

We managed to find a great little restaurant halfway through the town which had amazing views of the Mediterranean while we had a relaxing lunch.
