Below are a few photos of our time in Cinque Terre
Five cliff hugging villages.
Hugging the edge of a rocky cliff edge in the North West of Italy are five colourful fishing villages. Monterosso is the oldest village with Riomaggiore next followed by Vernazza, Corniglia and Manarola completing the five villages.
The villages have grown over the centuries, with people building terraces into the steep cliffs that overlook the sea. Car’s cannot reach from the outside to the villages. So they are connected by paths, trains and boats which gives them it’s unique charm.
The five villages, coastline and the surrounding hillsides are all part of the Cinque Terre National Park and has been an UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997.
