Rome

Below are a few photos of our time in Rome

Rome is such an amazing, beautiful city with a wealth of things to see and do.

It must be the biggest open air museum in the world.  You can spend a whole day viewing the splendour of the Vatican museums and St Peter’s Basilica. Wander around the Colosseum, Forum and the Palatino. There seems to be something to photograph on every street. Once you’ve got tired walking around there’s a large selection of cafes and restaurants to relax in. There’s also markets and gardens to stroll around.

Rome is one place that you need to visit more than once so make sure you throw a coin in the Trevi fountain!

Highlights we experienced

Rome is such an amazing city, this list would be so long.

The Vatican is vast so you need to be there early to have a chance of seeing it all.

The food is wonderful, there are a lot of great places to eat.

Be mindful of…

Long queues to get into the Vatican and the Basilica, plan your day.

There will be a lot of walking involved, sometimes over uneven ground, wear suitable footwear.

It gets very hot during the summer months and the piazza’s are sun-traps.
