San Gimignano

The town of towers
San Gimignano is a small medieval hill town situated in Tuscany, south west of Florence. It is famous for it’s many medieval tower which the taller they became signified more power and wealth.
Piazza della Cisterna, a triangular piazza lined with beautiful multilevel medieval houses and a well. It’s a gathering for the locals with markets and festivals set here.
At one point there were 72 tower houses in this small town, today there is only 14 towers left. This beautiful town is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
