Lake District

Below are a few photos of our time in Lake District

The Lake District is wild and wonderful!

We’ve been to the lakes a couple of times and my favourite time of year to visit is autumn. The landscape changes into an array of colours, its beautiful. Plus, the hordes of tourists have gone home so we have this amazing place nearly all to ourselves to explore.

We usually base ourselves near Ullswater to explore the area. There’s so many lakes to visit including Grasmere, Derwentwater, Windermere, Wast Water and Coniston Water plus great walks for every ability. There’s some amazing pubs to visit which always give a good incentive to finish a walk if there is a pub at the end, especially in the cold weather as a lot of them have real fires blazing away to warm you back up.

It’s amazing to think that there so much varied landscapes to visit within Britain, we really are spoilt for choice. Make sure the Lake District is one of the places you visit.
